What services do we provide?
Surgical clinic for skin and soft tissue tumors, emergency surgery (abscesses, the removal of ingrown toenails and fistulas) with a specialty in proctological procedures, including hemorrhoids, fistulas, fissures and condylomas.
As the german health care system provides an excellent range of outpatient care, we are limited in providing the full range of services for all health care plans. In this case we also provide Gastrointestinal examinations for privately insured patients (upper and lower GI). Please contact us to find out if your health plan covers these services, or if a Gastroenterologist would be better suited to your medical needs.
Please note that we are not a OH&S certified doctor (Durchgangsarzt) and do not handle work related accidents.
How do I find the practice?
By car;
Via the A66 motorway and take the Frankfurt / Bundesbank exit. 700m after the exit stay on the road until you reach the crossroad at Dornbusch and Eschersheimer Landstrasse. Free parking is available in all the sidestreets, while parking directly in front of the door is charged by the half-hour.
On foot;
From Hauptwache walk north straight along Eschershiemer Landstrasse until you reach Dornbusch Haus (about 350m after the new police headquaters). Entrance is between the Vodafone store and kiosk and you can find us on the second floor.
Public transport;
The easiest of options, we are located directly by Dornbusch underground station. Take the U1, U2, U3 or U8 from Hauptwache (7mins).
I need post-operative care. Can I be seen by the doctor?
For the best possible recovery, pre-and post-inpatient care is generally the responsibility of the hospital – within five days of admission and fourteen days after patient discharge. The clinic can not administer a referral or hospital admission for these services, however, it can mandate certain services outside of this time frame. The hospital is responsible for its patients for 2 weeks after discharge. At the end of the 14 days, patients can be released into our clinic’s care as long as the post-operative appointment with the operating surgeon has been had.
I need a repeat prescription
Patients who are under current observation of Dr Blanco (within the last three months) can have a repeat prescription, without an appointment as long as it has been previously agreed with the doctor beforehand. Follow the link to fill out name, date of birth, as well as current symptoms. Due to administrative reasons, your electronic health care card must be read and a personal visit to the office is required in order to pick up your prescription. (not neccessary for private patients)
What does it mean when a spontaneous, painful lump, directly on my butt appears?!
Stay calm! In the first 72 hours it’s important to notify us (call and mention a painful, lump ‘there’) and cool the area with a cool pack or ice. The first 72 hours are crucial in releasing the pressure with an uncomplicated, quick procedure. In most cases, it’s just a haemorrhoid that has been clogged (thrombosed Haemorrhoid)
What does it mean when a painful, swollen, red, zit-like lump appears? It may even be accompanied by a fever?
Relax and cool the area. Call immediately and let us know that you have a lump or pimple that has appeared quite suddenly and is painful to touch. It may need to be drained.
What does it mean when I extreme pain while passing stool?
Generally the pain is caused by hard stool passing through the sphincter muscle. Make sure you are eating a high fibre diet and perhaps try a light stool softener (available from the pharmacy). Call and organise a regular appointment (this is not considered an emergency) as it can generally be solved with a special cream prescribed by the doctor. Most times it is simply a small tear in the mycosa (anal fissure).
What do I do when there is a sticky, secrete from my anus?
It is important to remember that there a few reasons for this, including a chronic bowel diesease, and most of them can be treated quite easily. However, sometimes it can be one of many STD’s and so it is always imprtant to practice safe-sex – especially with passive anal-sex. Please always use a condom and give us a call to make a regular appointment. An STD test is quite simple and most contracted diseases can be easily handled with a round of Antibiotics.
What do I do when there is blood on the toilet paper or in the bowl?
First of all, keep calm. It is important to remember that this isn’t an emergency as a little blood can mean a lot of different things. This can be sorted in one of our regular appointments and can be as simple as a mechanical irritation to a sensitive area (think ‘toothbrush on sensitive gums’ kind of situation)
